Position Overview
Grifols Diagnostic Solutions is seeking an Engineer III with expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Facilities, or Process Engineering. The role involves executing medium‑complexity assignments and developing solutions for defined problems.
Responsibilities- Serve as counsel within the engineering discipline in question (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Facilities or Process) depending on the department.
- Make decisions with designated assignments that influence department goals.
- Produce anticipated results that contribute to business or technical objectives.
- Develop alternative solutions to problems and handle complex challenges independently.
- Provide engineering project support related to the design and implementation of new and upgraded facilities, systems and equipment used in manufacturing and supporting operations.
- Ensure facilities remain compliant with FDA Good Manufacturing Practice Regulations and maintain environmental and personal safety.
- Work in one or more areas of Engineering within a manufacturing environment—Project, Plant & Reliability, and/or Utilities.
- Collaborate with functional areas in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and others.
- Maintain excellent interpersonal, technical writing and communication skills. Demonstrate strong technical and problem‑solving abilities in a manufacturing environment; design and operate manufacturing technology; supervise quality control and ensure compliance with FDA regulations.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate strong technical and/or regulatory expertise and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Exhibit flexibility with assignments across different units or plants.
- Complete assignments across multiple business units or functional areas. Communicate effectively and promptly at all organizational levels to support department objectives and management decisions. Lead teams and promote a collaborative approach.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; professional certifications and licenses as appropriate.
Experience:
At least 4 years of relevant experience. Preference for experience in the biotech or chemical industry.
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of related education and experience may be considered in place of the stated requirements. For example, 8 years of experience could substitute for a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience; an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
Compensation & BenefitsThe estimated pay scale for the Engineer III role based in Emeryville, CA, is $97,340 to $121,675 per year. The position is eligible to participate in up to 5% of the company bonus pool. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, up to 5% 401(K) match, and tuition reimbursement. Final compensation will depend on education, experience, skill set, knowledge, role location, internal equity, and market data.
