Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Emeryville, California. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and supporting organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

+ Serve in a hands-on accounting role with exposure to multiple functions, including GL, AP, AR, and job costing.

+ Act as a cross-functional team member supporting smooth operations across departments.

+ Coordinate month-end activities to ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

+ Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support a timely and efficient close.

+ Help develop and refine processes to enhance team efficiency and performance.

+ Utilize and optimize the ERP system (Vista) by continuously improving workflows and structure.

+ Generate ad hoc reports related to job cost, WIP, payroll, and other operational needs.

+ Lead initiatives such as business census reporting, license renewals, and tax filings.

+ Serve as the primary contact for the annual CPA review.

+ Partner with the Controller and CEO to support key strategic and managerial decisions.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.

+ Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience required.

+ Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

+ Technically proficient with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

+ Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
