The Generations Vibrant Life® Coordinator is responsible for organizing, planning, facilitating and directing the overall operations of the Vibrant Life® Department for the Generations/Memory Care in accordance with current standards, guidelines and regulations, company policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Generations Program Director to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each Memory Care resident.
This position is designed for communities with a Generations population of thirty-five (35) or more residents. Make recommendations to the Generations Program Director or Generations Program Director with respect to Generations/Memory Care staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Primary responsibility is to provide a creative social atmosphere throughout the property (Generations/Memory Care in particular) and promote resident and family participation through regularly scheduled events, activities, special programs and guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions.
- Work with the Vibrant Life® Director to coordinate, plan, organize, carry-out and attend all special functions and activity programs.
- Implement the ISL Vibrant Life® Standards in the Generations/Memory Care.
- Ensure activities and events acknowledge the cultural, religious and ethnic diversity of the Generations/Memory Care residents and their families.
- Actively encourage resident participation in all activities.
- Understand and ensure compliance with all Federal (Title 22) and state regulations concerning the department.
- Make recommendations to the Vibrant Life® Director or Generations Program Director with respect to Generations/Memory Care staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- As directed, plan, schedule, prepare and conduct staff in-services.
- As needed, coordinate transportation needs of the residents and maintain transportation schedule for all events, activities and appointments.
- Possess the ability, licensure and willingness to drive community van.
- Ensure knowledge remains current regarding senior activities and dementia/Alzheimers through completion of continuing education courses and networking opportunities with other community professionals.
- Accurately and timely performance of all clerical work connected with the position (e.g., Monthly Vibrant Life® Calendar, Community Newsletter).
- Assist with set-up of special events.
- Aid in community marketing effort through demonstrated proficiency and willingness to conduct community tours, participation in all required marketing events and through positive/friendly interaction with all potential residents, family members and referral sources.
- Arrange for coverage of job duties within the department during employee absences either through delegation or personal completion of duties.
- As requested, participate in daily “Stand-Up” meetings to communicate key issues within the department.
- Obtain and maintain all state required certifications/licensures.
- Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
- Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards.
- Perform other duties consistent with position as assigned by the Generations Program Director or Vibrant Life® Director.
