The Application Analyst is responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of clinical application systems. This role involves working closely with clinical staff to understand workflows, documentation requirements, and clinical practice standards, ensuring software solutions effectively meet user needs. The Application Analyst may also provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and guidance on best practices within clinical applications.
Roles and Responsibilities- Design, build, test, and implement clinical application systems to support organizational workflows and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with clinicians to gather requirements, create or adapt written protocols, and ensure system functionality aligns with clinical needs.
- Prepare detailed specifications, including clinical process mapping, information flow analysis, risk assessment, and impact analysis.
- Provide user support, training, and troubleshooting for clinical application systems.
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in clinical applications, providing guidance on system optimization and best practices.
- Lead or contribute to medium to large-scale projects of significant scope and complexity.
- Participate in strategy formulation, policy administration, and resource management for clinical application initiatives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in clinical applications or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Certifications
- Epic Resolute HB or PB Claims and Remittance Admin certification (required).
- Strong knowledge of clinical processes, workflows, and documentation standards.
- Proven experience in application design, testing, and implementation.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in addressing unique or unprecedented challenges.
- Ability to manage projects independently with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with clinical and technical stakeholders.
