- If you have experience representing the plaintiff in Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice, or Toxic Tort litigation then we’d love to hear from you!
- As an associate in the Emeryville, CA office, you will learn all aspects of asbestos litigation and have the support and mentorship to become an expert in this focus area. A successful candidate should be a quick study as you will need to become familiar with various sources of asbestos exposure and the basic medical terminology associated with mesothelioma. You will be responsible for case investigation, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, document review, drafting and arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial.
The Portland office has a collegial atmosphere, and you will have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by experienced, successful trial attorneys. The successful candidate will serve as a second or third chair during trials with the potential to first chair trials after gaining sufficient experience.
- J.D. from ABA accredited institution and admission to California bar, or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team on behalf of injured clients.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to work under a deadline in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to plaintiff work.
- This position is open to experienced associates AND recent graduates. Experienced attorneys ideally have some trial, research and writing, and deposition experience. Recent graduates ideally have a hard-working, driven attitude with an aptitude for legal research and writing. Candidates with judicial clerkship experience are encouraged to apply.
