Legal Secretary

Description

A growing carrier-side insurance litigation/coverage firm is seeking a highly organized contract-to-hire Part-Time Litigation Secretary (20 hours per week) to support its expanding caseload. This is an overflow support position driven by increased motion work and filings-not a traditional desk role-offering flexibility and long-term potential for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation professional who thrives in a detail-driven, fast-paced environment and enjoys motion-heavy work.

Key Responsibilities

+ Draft, format, and finalize motions and supporting documents

+ Prepare Tables of Contents (TOCs) and Tables of Authorities (TOAs)

+ E-file in state and federal courts in compliance with court rules

+ Maintain and manage litigation calendaring (court deadlines, hearings, filings)

+ Provide general litigation support to attorneys

+ Assist with billing support (Clio) and document formatting (MS Office Suite)

Requirements

Required:

+ 5+ years of civil litigation experience

+ Significant experience preparing and filing motions

+ Knowledge of state and federal court rules and e-filing procedures

+ High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting

Preferred:

+ Insurance litigation or coverage experience
