Grifols Diagnostic Solutions is seeking a Summer R&D Intern in Emeryville, CA. The purpose of the summer internship is to perform research in a laboratory setting and to gain experience in biological research. Become part of a dynamic and growing team geared toward research of antigens and/or antibodies. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to cloning, mammalian cell culture, protein expression, purification and characterization by SDS‑PAGE, western blot, ELISA, kinetics/binning, and mass‑spectrometry.
The R&D Intern will be exposed to these functions through daily interaction, lab meetings, and will have the opportunity to learn laboratory wet skills. Internship will be structured to meet the needs of the project and interests of the intern.
- Provides updates to scientist on status of experiments and studies
- Assists and performs experiments in the laboratory, as needed.
- Records observations and results
- Assist subsequent characterization of the recombinant proteins
- Identifies, analyzes experiments.
- Prepares written reports on all phases of laboratory experimental projects as needed.
- Presents results to colleagues at group/scientific meetings.
- Other duties as assigned
