New Grads - Data Engineer

WeRide.ai Silicon Valley team is seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join our Metrics Team. This role focuses on supporting the development of L3+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and L4 Autonomous Driving (AD) Systems by building scalable evaluation frameworks and high‑impact scenarios that drive continuous improvement in autonomous driving. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of business needs, data pipelines, and system behavior, with the ability to translate complex test data into actionable insights.

• Create algorithms to evaluate the safety, comfort, and other performance aspects of autonomous driving systems to ensure their reliable operation
• Understand business requirements, delve deep into autonomous driving operations, map out business processes, and design data pipelines and metric systems to quantify the capabilities of the autonomous driving system
• Aggregate and analyze autonomous driving test data, perform deep‑dive investigations into the causes of data variations, and identify system issues through data analysis
• Take responsibility for data visualization and the automation of reports to present data intuitively and support decision‑making
• Efficiently extract high‑value traffic scenarios from massive, unstructured test data to drive improvements in the autonomous driving system
• Utilize algorithmic models or rules to develop performance metrics and automated evaluation methods for autonomous driving algorithms
• Build a comprehensive framework for evaluating autonomous driving behavior

• Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Information Engineering, Statistics, or a related field

  • Proficient in C++, with a solid programming foundation and a strong sense of good coding practices
  • Familiar with common data structures and algorithms, capable of writing efficient and stable code
  • Experience with development in a Linux/Unix environment, familiar with common development and debugging tools
