Full-time contracted ELD position for the  school year.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ESL Specialist to join our English Language Development (ELD) team at Emmaus High School. The ideal candidate will have expertise in supporting multilingual learners in mastering academic language skills, improving literacy, and achieving academic success across content areas.

As a Secondary ESL Specialist, you will collaborate with classroom teachers, provide direct instruction, develop targeted interventions, and support the implementation of ELD standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver high-quality ELD instruction tailored to the needs of secondary multilingual learners.

* Design and implement individualized and small-group instruction for students requiring additional language support.

* Collaborate with content teachers to integrate language development strategies across curricula.

* Assess student language proficiency and academic progress using a variety of formative and summative tools.

* Support the development and implementation of ELD curriculum aligned with state and district standards.

* Collaborate with colleagues to provide professional development and coaching for teachers on effective ELD strategies and accommodations.

* Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and staff.

* Advocate for multilingual learners and assist in fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Experience:

* Several years of teaching experience working with students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.

* Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Pennsylvania Certificate:
English as a Second Language PK-12

East Penn School District Salary Schedule 2026/2027

Step 1 - Bachelor Degree - $66,500

Step 1 - Master Degree - $70,000

Salary and benefits in accordance with terms of the East Penn Education Association collective bargaining agreement.

Please note that the East Penn School District considers years of service when determining the starting salary.
