Middle School English Teacher (Grades 6-8)
2026/27 School Year

Job Summary
Member of the District's certified staff, instructs pupils in basic concepts of education within the scope and sequence of the district's education program. Implements instruction effectively and efficiently, and measures results to determine student success.

• Establish specific objectives and lesson plans to direct and evaluate student learning.
• Provide pupil guidance to promote good citizenship and encourage lifelong learning.
• Maintain liaison with parents.
• Provide care and protection of students.
• Maintain care of materials, equipment, and facilities.
• Participate in planning, evaluation, and upgrading of the school program.
• Be responsible for student attendance and permanent records.
• Maintain cordial and cooperative working relationships with colleagues.
• Report pupil progress to administration and parents as directed.
• Continuously demonstrate mastery of the subject area and generally acceptable instruction techniques.
• Assume co-curricular and other duties beyond classroom activities determined by building principal.
• Serve as a role model, promoting good habits and behavior.
• Provide an atmosphere of dignity, mutual respect, industry, and self‑initiative.
• Instruct in safety regarding buildings and equipment used by students.
• Follow school policy and chain of command; act ethically and confidentially.
• Perform other school‑related duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Idaho State Certification as a Middle School Teacher in the appropriate subject matter (preferred and may be required).
• Bachelor's Degree in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment from an accredited college or university.
• Successful prior teaching experience at the appropriate grade level (preferred).
• At least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
