Elementary Teacher

As a member of the District's certified staff, instructs pupils in the basic concepts of education within the scope and sequence of the district's education program. Implements such instructions in an effective and efficient manner. Effectively measures the results of that instruction in a manner so as to determine the level of student success.

Qualifications Profile Certification/License:
Idaho State Certification as an Elementary Teacher

Education:

Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education. Masters Degree in related area preferred.

Experience:

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus.

Position Summary The Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment that supports the growth and development of all students. The teacher delivers standards-based instruction, fosters positive relationships, and collaborates as an active member of the school's Professional Learning Community (PLC).

Essential Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction in core content areas. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and adjust practices. Maintain accurate and timely student records.

Classroom Environment Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom culture. Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and responsibility. Support students' social-emotional growth alongside academic development.

Collaboration & PLC Participation Serve as a positive and contributing member of the school's Professional Learning Community (PLC). Collaborate with grade-level teammates to analyze data, plan instruction, and develop interventions. Engage in shared problem-solving to support student achievement and well-being. Contribute to school-wide initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Family & Community Engagement Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities. Build strong partnerships with parents/guardians to support student success. Participate in school events, conferences, and community activities as appropriate.

Professional Responsibilities Participate in ongoing professional development. Reflect on instructional practices and seek continuous growth. Collaborate with specialists, interventionists, and support staff to meet student needs. Uphold school policies, district guidelines, and professional standards.

Qualifications Valid state teaching certification appropriate for elementary grade levels. Knowledge of child development and elementary instructional strategies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and student-centered practices.
