Special Education Teacher - Emporia, KS

Empower students to achieve their fullest potential by providing specialized instruction and support as an onsite Special Education Teacher focused on Early Childhood and Elementary Intensive Skills. This contract opportunity runs through the end of the school year and centers on working with a dedicated caseload, including an autistic support classroom.

• Active Kansas Special Education Teaching License required
• Experience or interest in Early Childhood and Elementary Intensive Skills preferred
• Familiarity with instructional strategies for students with autism and developmental disabilities
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, positive environment for all learners

• Design and deliver individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Develop, implement, and track progress toward IEP goals
• Create a supportive classroom culture tailored to students with intensive needs
• Collaborate closely with related services, classroom staff, and families to foster student growth
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and participate in IEP meetings as required
• Engage students in meaningful learning opportunities and support behavioral/emotional needs

This is a full-time, onsite contract position beginning as soon as possible and continuing through May 25, 2025. Youll find meaningful work each day as you help students progress, work alongside passionate school teams, and further your professional skills in special education.
