This is a Full Time Position.

Monday
- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with rotating call

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to patients in the Same Day Surgery department. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure safe, high-quality care for patients from pediatric through geriatric populations.

• Prepares patients for surgical and procedural services by completing assessments and reviewing medical histories.
• Provides direct patient care before and after procedures.
• Administers medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Monitors patient condition and responds appropriately to changes in status.
• Provides patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and promotes a safe, patient-centered environment.
• Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and departmental initiatives.
• Assists with maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked department.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kansas.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.
• ACLS, PALS/PEARS, and other department-specific certifications required within established departmental time frames..
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient care needs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical equipment.
