Employment Type: Substitute, On-Call

Job Summary: Under administrative direction, a Certificated Substitute in the San Dieguito Union High School District works on a flexible, on‑call basis, providing temporary instructional support in middle and high school classrooms. The role involves stepping in for absent regular teachers, implementing lesson plans, and maintaining classroom order. The substitute should be adaptable, able to teach various subjects, and communicate effectively with students and staff.

• Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential with or without an English Learners Authorization
• OR
• A valid California issued 30‑Day Substitute Permit
• AND
• Fingerprint clearance through the San Diego County Office of Education Fingerprint Clearinghouse

• Certificated Substitute Pay Rates Effective 12/01/2025: $200 to $230 Per Day

186 Days (2026‑27 School Year)

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
