Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School is seeking applicants for an Instructional Assistant/General Education position to provide additional support to students in grades K–6 in the areas of reading, writing, and math for the 2026–2027 school year. Due to the annual allocation of funds, this position is a short-term assignment for the 2026–2027 school year. Under the direction of a certificated staff member, the Instructional Assistant will support student learning by assisting with reading, writing, and math instruction, working with small groups of students, and helping monitor and track student progress to support academic success.

The ideal candidate demonstrates patience, flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to supporting students in a positive learning environment.

Work Schedule:

August 7, 2026 through June 9, 2027

Hours:

14.25 hours per week Monday – Thursday: 7:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. & Friday: 7:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Salary placement dependent upon experience; up to 6 years of work experience in the same or comparable classification is taken into consideration for salary placement. This position is for the  school year; however, depending on funding, may continue for additional years. No Health and Welfare benefits offered.

Successful candidates will be required to pass fingerprint background check, physical and drug screen and provide negative Tuberculin Skin Test result prior to working in Encinitas Union School District. TB test at applicant's expense. Fingerprinting/physical/drug screen paid by EUSD. An original Social Security Card is required at the time of hire.
