Coordinator IPosition Summary
The Office Coordinator I is responsible for the implementation of front‑office services and daily operations of the Physician/s practice. Communication with staff in all departments is paramount in this position, ensuring that the front office operation needs are met effectively and efficiently.
What You Will Be Doing- Welcome and greet patients and visitors.
- Communicate with back‑office staff upon patient arrival.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
- Manage patient portal messages.
- Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Answer phone calls and handle all phases of telephone communications, including scheduling in‑office appointments.
- Route all calls to appropriate departments and take accurate and neat messages, and forward them in a timely manner.
- Conduct appointment reminder calls to patients.
- Consistently exhibit behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern with each internal and external customer.
- Notify the physician if there are any schedule changes.
- Assist with prescription refills when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- 0–3 years of prior experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies.
- Excellent customer service skills.
