Registered Nurse - RN - DOU​/PCU - Nights

Overview

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County's coastal communities since 1978. The PCU / DOU opened in 2014 with 36 private beds. As a designated stroke unit for the stepdown population, our nurses provide patient care in a compassionate, team-oriented environment focused on quality care and patient experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience in a PCU or Stepdown Unit.

We invite you to join our team of Registered Nurses responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice. This includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients  progress towards expected outcomes. With patient- and family-centered care in mind, the RN takes primary responsibility for the patients  care as delivered by the Care Team under supervision.

Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This is a Full Time (72 hours per pay period), 12-Hour Night Shift, position located at Scripps Memorial Encinitas.

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve expected outcomes.
• Coordinate with the care team to deliver quality, patient- and family-centered care.
• Collaborate with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Hold primary responsibility for the patient care delivered by the Care Team under supervision.

Required Qualifications:

• Current CA RN License
• One (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS Certification
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Preferred Qualifications:

• NIHSS Certification
• PCU, Stepdown or Tele Experience
• Bachelor s degree in Nursing

Benefit Status: FT - FULL-TIME WITH BENEFITS

Minimum Rate (USD): 59.16 – Maximum Rate (USD): 85.68
