Position Overview

Part‑time Registered Nurse – Float Pool

Location:

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, 354 SANTA FE DRIVE, ENCINITAS, 92024

Schedule:

48 hours every two weeks, 12‑Hour Night Shifts (1900‑0730) on varied days, including some holidays and weekends.

As a Registered Nurse in the Float Pool, you will provide direct patient care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and lead patient care activities, ensuring high‑quality standards and positive patient experiences.

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient progress toward expected outcomes.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal care and support for patients and their families.
• Take primary responsibility for patient care, guiding the Care Team under your supervision to foster a team‑oriented approach.

As part of our Site‑Based Float Pool (SBFP), you will have the opportunity to float among four major Med/Surg Telemetry units, gaining diverse experience while providing quality care.

• One (1) year of RN experience.
• Current CA RN License.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification through American Heart Association.
• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and following instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate positive behaviors.

• BSN.
• One year of acute Medical/Surgical RN experience.
• Telemetry or Progressive Care experience.
• Additional certifications: CMSRN, NIHHS Stroke Certification, ACLS.
• Experience with Epic EHR.

Eligible for a New Hire Incentive of $2,000 for part‑time. Eligibility requirements include maintaining original hired FTE status and shift, department, specialty, job title, and staying at the original location unless otherwise approved.
