The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) supervises nursing assistants, ensures quality patient care, and collaborates with healthcare teams to maintain high standards of resident well-being. This role involves administrative duties, direct patient care, medication administration, and compliance with policies and regulations.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily activities of nursing assistants and ensure policy compliance.
- Review and update departmental policies and oversee shift services.
- Maintain accurate resident records, document physician orders, and report incidents.
- Administer medications safely, verify resident identity, and handle narcotics properly.
- Assist in staff evaluations, scheduling, and ensure training compliance.
- Provide direct resident care, including wound care, catheterization, and emotional support.
- Ensure infection control, safety standards, and participate in emergency preparedness.
- Graduate of an accredited LVN program with active licensure in CA.
- Current CPR certification; PCC experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs. and handle physically demanding situations.
The role involves working in various healthcare settings, managing emotionally challenging situations, and adhering to safety protocols. Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins is required.
