Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in Endicott, NY is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the school year. This contract position involves working directly with students who have visual impairments to help them achieve their educational goals through specialized instruction and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Train students in the use of assistive technology and adaptive materials.
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and school personnel regarding student development and progress.
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and district activities related to visually impaired education.
