Engineering Manager, North America
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a North American engineering organization supporting Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO) products and technologies. This position manages engineering resources located in Endicott, New York;
Zhuhai, China;
Nogales, Mexico; and remote locations.
This role is responsible for all aspects of Core Product Engineering, New Product Development (NPD), Manufacturing Support, Sustaining Engineering, Cost Reduction and Technical Leadership. The Engineering Manager provides leadership for product design, product engineering, manufacturing engineering support, validation testing, engineering documentation, technology development, and strategic engineering initiatives.
This position works closely with Product Management, Operations, Quality, Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, and Senior Leadership to ensure successful execution of business objectives and engineering priorities.

Duties/ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership
- Lead and develop engineering teams or resources located in Endicott, Nogales, China, and remote locations.
- Establish engineering goals, priorities, workload balance, and resource allocation to support business objectives.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development for engineering employees.
- Create a culture of accountability, innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Support succession planning and organizational development for the global engineering team.
Core Product Engineering
- Manage technical aspects of Core Products including sustaining engineering, lifecycle management, cost reduction, and product improvements.
- Oversee engineering change management, product documentation accuracy, and product release packages.
- Support operations, quality, sourcing, project managers, and manufacturing locations with strong technical and product knowledge.
- Drive quality improvements, manufacturability improvements, productivity improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.
New Product Development
- Lead all technical aspects of new product development projects from concept through production launch.
- Manage configuration, detailed design, tolerance analysis, FMEA, prototyping, pilot builds, validation, qualification, and production readiness.
- Ensure products meet customer requirements, industry standards, cost targets, quality expectations, and schedule commitments.
- Utilize Lean Product Development techniques to improve speed, learning, execution, and design quality.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Sales to define product requirements and development priorities.
Design, Documentation & Technical Review
- Review and approve engineering documentation including BOMs, ECNs, drawings, specifications, test plans, qualification reports, FAIs, and product release documents.
- Provide technical leadership in connector design, cable assemblies, contact systems, thermal performance, signal integrity, environmental sealing, materials, plating, injection molding, stamping, machining, and assembly processes.
- Ensure engineering work complies with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Drive technical problem-solving using Root Cause Analysis, A3s, Knowledge Reports, DFMEA/PFMEA, and design reviews.
