Master Scheduler
Eastern Staffing & Recruiting is looking to hire a Master Scheduler for our client in Broome County, NY! This position plays a critical role in managing and coordinating all aspects of production scheduling to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products or services. This role involves overseeing and maintaining production schedules, monitoring resource availability, balancing capacity with demand, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects and orders are completed on time and within budget.
The Master Scheduler will be responsible for optimizing production flow and resolving any scheduling conflicts or challenges that may arise.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory targets.
- Align production schedules with capacity, labor availability, and material constraints.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure schedule feasibility and alignment.
- Monitor and adjust schedules in response to demand changes, supply disruptions, or production issues.
- Analyze key performance metrics such as:
- On-time delivery (OTD)
- Schedule adherence
- Inventory turns
- Capacity utilization
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or support integrated business planning processes.
- Identify and implement improvements to scheduling processes, systems, and tools.
- Manage and maintain planning data accuracy in ERP/MRP systems. (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Communicate schedule changes and priorities clearly to production teams.
- Drive risk mitigation strategies related to material shortages or capacity bottlenecks
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPSM, or PMP) are a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, supply chain management, or operations planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and production scheduling software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and experience with scheduling or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-changing environment.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and driven by continuous improvement.
