Job Description Summary:

Amphenol Industrial Operations is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support our growing manufacturing operation in Endicott, NY. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining equipment (specifically Tsugami Swiss Lathes with Fanuc controllers) to produce high-quality components that meet customer and engineering specifications. This role plays a key part in supporting production efficiency, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts as the facility expands operations and automation capabilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers, lathes (Tsugami Swiss Lathe), and related equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform tool changes, fixture setup, offset adjustments, and program edits as needed.
  • Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and throughput.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve problems.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Support new product introductions, process development, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow all safety requirements, operating procedures, and company policies.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with training less experienced machinists and machine operators as required.
Qualifications - Education/Experience:

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
