Playworker

Sticky Fingers is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Play Worker to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will support children aged 4–11 years within our after‑school and holiday provision, delivering engaging play opportunities in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

• Support the delivery of high‑quality, inclusive play opportunities that meet the needs and interests of all children.
• Actively engage with children during indoor and outdoor play.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing at all times in line with policies and procedures.
• Assist with setting up and clearing away activities and play spaces.
• Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour management procedures.
• Support children with additional needs, adapting activities where necessary.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and confidence.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to create a fun and welcoming environment.

• Experience working with children aged 4–11 (paid or voluntary).
• A genuine passion for play and child development.
• Ability to actively engage with children rather than supervising from a distance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork or related field.
• Experience with in after‑school clubs or holiday play schemes.
• Knowledge of the EYFS or Playwork Principles.
• First Aid training.
