Enfield Public Schools is seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Kindergarten Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will support young learners’ academic, social, and emotional development and provide a joyful, developmentally appropriate introduction to school. This position emphasizes building foundational skills and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and early childhood best practices.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students’ social, emotional, physical, and academic growth.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including play‑based and hands‑on learning.
- Support early literacy, numeracy, and social‑emotional skill development.
- Foster curiosity, communication, creativity, and collaboration.
- Assess and monitor student progress using formative assessment practices.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, families, and the school community.
- Participate in professional learning to remain current with early childhood standards and instructional practices.
- Valid CTDOE certification in Elementary, PK–6 (305).
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and kindergarten instructional practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration.
- Experience teaching kindergarten or early primary grades.
- Experience integrating technology in developmentally appropriate ways.
- Knowledge of best practices in early childhood instruction.
- Experience working in a diverse and inclusive school community.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
