Job Description

Enfield Public Schools is seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Kindergarten Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will support young learners’ academic, social, and emotional development and provide a joyful, developmentally appropriate introduction to school. This position emphasizes building foundational skills and fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and early childhood best practices
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students’ social, emotional, physical, and academic growth
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including play-based and hands-on learning
  • Support early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skill development
  • Foster curiosity, communication, creativity, and collaboration
  • Assess and monitor student progress using formative assessment practices
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with families
  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, families, and the school community
  • Participate in professional learning to remain current with early childhood standards and instructional practices
Qualifications
  • Valid CTDOE certification in Elementary, PK–6 (305)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and kindergarten instructional practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching kindergarten or early primary grades
  • Experience integrating technology in developmentally appropriate ways
  • Knowledge of best practices in early childhood instruction

    Experience working in a diverse and inclusive school community
