Preschool Program Supervisor
The Preschool Program Supervisor provides instructional leadership, operational oversight, and programmatic direction for all early childhood services within the district. This includes the School Readiness, Family, School, and Community Resource Center, and any other programs or services aligned with Early Start CT legislation. The Supervisor also serves as the Local Governance Partner (LGP) Liaison, connecting early childhood providers to state resources and ensuring continuous quality improvement in accordance with OEC policies and contracts.
This role combines the duties of a school-based leader/administrator with deep expertise in early childhood education and community partnerships.

The salary range for the 2026-27 school year is per contract with a competitive benefits package.

Reports To:

- Connecticut Early Childhood Certification (e.g., 112 or 113)
- Office of Early Childhood (OEC) Director-Level Credential (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education (Master's degree preferred)
- 5 years of experience in early childhood settings, including Family Resource Centers (FRC), Smart Start or School Readiness (SR) programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of the CT Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and State Curriculum and Assessment Frameworks
- Demonstrated experience with NAEYC standards, accreditation processes, and compliance
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, communication, and facilitation skills
- Instructional and Programmatic Leadership:
Oversee the implementation of developmentally appropriate curricula that are aligned with CT ELDS and state frameworks. Monitor and oversee certified and non-certified staff, including parent educators and paraprofessionals. Provide coaching and professional development aligned to program and individual staff goals. Ensure a safe, nurturing, inclusive learning environment that promotes social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative growth. Maintain NAEYC accreditation for all School Readiness classrooms. - Administrative and Operational Oversight:
Manage enrollment processes, family fee assessments (including adherence to SR Alert SR-03- 01), and state reporting for School Readiness, FRC, and IDEA. Complete monthly and annual reports (School Readiness, Family Resource, NAEYC). Support families in accessing Care4
Kids, social services, and educational advocacy. - Local Governance Partner (LGP) Liaison Duties:
Conduct regular visits to School Readiness providers. Monitor contract compliance and OEC general policies using standardized tools. Provide coaching and technical assistance around:
Enrollment processes (e.g., documentation, family income verification, fee structures) Family engagement practices Health and safety protocols Document findings using OEC-approved electronic systems; communicate findings to OEC program managers. - Community and Family Engagement:
Facilitate parent education groups, child development sessions, and parent/child activities. Build and sustain partnerships with local service providers, early childhood agencies, and higher education institutions. Collaborate with community stakeholders through active participation in School Readiness meetings and state-level OEC meetings
