SEN Teaching Assistant – KS2 Pupils Working at Early Years Level – Enfield Specialist SEN School | Full-Time | Long-Term Start:
September 2026

Are you a patient, caring and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting KS2 pupils working at an Early Years developmental level?

We are currently working with a supportive and well-resourced SEN school in Enfield that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children with additional needs access learning through personalised support, structured routines and engaging Early Years-style approaches.

About the School

The school supports pupils with a range of complex additional needs, including:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech and Language needs
  • Moderate to complex learning difficulties

Although the pupils are within KS2, many are working at an Early Years developmental stage and benefit from play-based learning, visual communication and sensory support.

The Role
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for KS2 pupils
  • Supporting learning through Early Years-focused activities and strategies
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
  • Using visual aids, sensory resources and structured routines
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and SEN professionals
  • Helping create a calm, nurturing and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting children with SEN, ASD or complex needs
  • Understanding of Early Years learning approaches and development
  • Calm, patient and resilient attitude
  • Comfortable supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils
  • Passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
