The RoleAs an SEN English Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
- Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning difficulties
- Create a structured, nurturing, and positive classroom environment
- Differentiate learning to ensure every student can access the curriculum and make progress
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Contribute towards EHCP targets and individual student outcomes
- Celebrate progress in all forms, building confidence, resilience, and independence
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
- Can adapt lessons to support a wide range of learning profiles
- Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Has a patient, consistent, and nurturing approach
- Is creative, flexible, and committed to inclusive education
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
Previous SEN experience is welcomed but not essential. Applications are encouraged from mainstream teachers looking to develop their career within specialist education.
