Position: Behavior Intervention Specialist - JOB ID#14175

Overview

Highly qualified Behavior Technician with multi tiered behavior knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals, groups and systems through the application of positive behavior supports, equity and restorative practices. The Behavior Technician must be proficient in data entry, skilled at working with students from multiple demographics, and must have good communication skills as well as compassion for the needs of a diverse student and family population.

The Technician will be expected to work inside and outside of the classroom to implement behavioral strategies, collaborate with staff members, and develop a positive climate with The Academy of Computer Science and Engineering High School students. Finally, the Behavior Technician must be someone who takes initiative in building a proactive positive climate in the school.

Responsibilities
  • Implement behavioral strategies inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Collaborate with staff members to support student behavior and climate.
  • Develop and contribute to a positive climate within the school setting.
  • Take initiative in building a proactive positive climate in the school.
  • Proficient in data entry and use of technology across multiple systems.
  • Work with students from diverse demographics and maintain effective communication with students and families.
  • Apply positive behavioral supports, equity, and restorative practices to guide interventions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree required.
  • Proficient in data entry in multiple systems.
  • Ability to implement Positive Behavioral Practices.
  • Knowledge of Restorative Practices.
  • Exceptional knowledge in the use of technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving behavior.
  • Under supervision of Administration, assist staff in: defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for weakening behavior; and identifying antecedents.
