Art Educator
Enfield Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a creative and inclusive environment where students can explore their artistic abilities and develop critical thinking skills through art.

- Provide students and staff with opportunities to reach their full potential.
- Prepare students to become productive, lifelong learners.
- Instill in our students a curiosity and love for learning which embraces the arts and the world around them.
- Prepare students to become self-reliant, honest, respectful and responsible members of a diverse and global society.
- Improve student learning by holding staff accountable for providing the most effective learning environment and using the most effective teaching strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive visual arts curriculum for students that aligns with state standards and district goals.
- Create lesson plans that incorporate best instructional practices, including student-centered learning, artistic storytelling, and multicultural art exploration.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students in hands-on art activities, encouraging creativity and self-expression.
- Integrate technology into art lessons to enhance students' learning experiences and prepare them for the digital world.
- Foster a classroom environment that is welcoming, respectful, and supportive of all students, promoting equity and inclusion.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents/guardians, and the community to create opportunities for students to showcase their artwork and connect with authentic audiences.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in art education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Art Education.
- Experience teaching art to children.
- Strong knowledge of child development and instructional strategies for early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
