Description
The Cost Estimator will review and evaluate incoming RFQ's and prepare cost estimates in collaboration with Engineering
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate incoming RFQ's.
- Prepare cost estimates for new products collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, etc., to meet customer RFQ requirements.
- Establish bill of materials and outside service operations.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing group on RFQ requirements.
- Establish manufacturing sequence and calculated set-up and cycle times for manufacturing.
- Compile all required data for quotes to meet requested customer due dates
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must possess basic understanding in machining concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand part drawings.
- Knowledge of aerospace specifications is desirable.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Knowledgeable with computer software including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as keen attention to detail.
Education & Experience Required:
- 5+ years of estimating experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Preferred knowledge in CNC Programming and estimating software.
- Self-directed; ability to multi-task, follow-up, and prioritize, completing assignments in a timely manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
