The Job Coach (or Employment Specialist) provides services to program participants, including vocational training, work material preparation, task supervision, and quality control. Support community engagement activities, such as volunteering, job shadowing, and workplace simulations.
REPORTABILITYReports directly to:
Employment Supports Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides support to program participants
- Supervision and Training:
- Supervise, train, and guide program participants in completing work tasks.
- Establish baseline performance using assessments, identify employment barriers, and develop training plans.
- Record and monitor behavioral and production data.
- Conduct lessons in hygiene, safety, social skills, and work behaviors.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete attendance records, quarterly progress reports, incident/accident reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of participant payroll.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Implement and enforce safety programs and agency policies, including DOL and OSHA regulations.
- Apply concepts of participant rights, human rights, and abuse prevention.
- Maintain certification in emergency intervention and DDS Medication Administration.
- Community Engagement:
- Plan and carry out community experiences that align with participants' training needs and personal preferences.
- Provide transportation for participants as needed.
- Program Implementation:
- Follow recommendations from consultants in psychological, occupational, speech, and physical therapies.
- Apply behavior modification principles, task analysis, and agency goals in daily activities.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of completed work.
- Maintain accurate records for time studies and outcome measurements.
- High school diploma required; experience with intellectual disabilities preferred.
- Top consideration given to those with related experience and motivation to improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in data entry, basic statistical analysis, and reporting.
- Knowledge of behavior intervention techniques and vocational training principles.
- Must obtain PSL certification within 90 days of hire.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $17.77 per hour.
