At Conval, you'll play an important role in producing precision‑machined valve components used across power generation, oil & gas, chemical processing, water treatment, pulp and paper, and other industrial applications where performance and durability are critical.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and machining centers
  • Run production jobs while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Select tooling, tool holders, fixtures, and work holding devices
  • Set feeds, speeds, offsets, and machine parameters
  • Load and unload parts while performing in‑process inspections
  • Use precision measuring tools and gauges to verify part quality
  • Monitor machine performance and identify potential issues

    Perform basic machine maintenance, lubrication, and minor adjustments
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure consistent results
Machines, Controls & Inspection Equipment

You’ll work with equipment such as:

Machines:

  • CNC Turning Centers
  • CNC Machining Centers

Controls:

  • Mazak
  • Mazatrol (preferred)

Inspection Equipment:

  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Gauges
  • Precision measuring instruments
Materials You’ll Work With

Depending on production requirements, you may machine:

  • Stainless Steel
  • Alloy Steels
  • Carbon Steels
  • Industrial valve components and related materials
What We’re Looking For Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of CNC machining experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience performing machine setups and operation
  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools and gauging techniques
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred
  • Experience with Mazak machines
  • Familiarity with Mazatrol controls
  • Experience machining industrial or valve components
  • Additional setup and troubleshooting experience
