Heat Treater/Parts Handler
Location:
Enfield, CT
1st Shift, Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Pay: $18/hr
Job Description
This position is Full-Time and requires overtime as necessary. The following tasks/actions are required in the position:
- Responsible for loading or feeding parts onto the furnace belt in accordance with written instructions on the Process Control Sheet
- Know and recognize customer’s parts
- Keep all parts identified and properly organized in such a way as to avoid mixing
- Ensure product flow for given operation
- Follow procedures to complete assigned duties
- Report major manufacturing problems to Heat Treat Supervisor
- Obtain all necessary supplies to perform daily tasks
- Maintain all necessary quality measurements and reporting
- Ensure manufacturing area is cleaned and organized
- Knowledge of how to load and offload machines
- Follow department rules, procedures, routines, and requirements to complete assigned duties
- Responsible for sampling parts during the assembly operation, to ensure parts meet customer specifications
- Ensure that all components have been accepted and correspond to the job work order
- Must verify that all required paperwork are on the workstation
- Performs other duties as required by management
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Three months of work experience. Preferably manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read and listen to work instructions in English
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
- Flexibility to work other work shifts
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in a higher temperature environment
- Must to be able to perform repetitive movements with arms and hands
- Must be reliable and ready to perform job function at beginning of shift
- Must have reliable transportation to and from our facility
- Must be able to function and work safe per company safety guidelines
Preferred Candidates
- Previous experience with an heat treater/metal finisher
- Two years experience in manufacturing environment
- Machining/Metal working experience
- Prior assembly and inspection experience
Work Environment and Special Conditions
This position works in a manufacturing setting. This position is occasionally exposed to odors, dust, mists, heights, cramped quarters, oil, grease, and dirt. A moderate to loud noise level is typical for the work environment of this job. Higher temperatures in the shop area exist, especially during the summer months
