Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Training:
Position will begin on the day shift for training
Pay Range: $20–$22 per hour, based on experience
We are seeking candidates who are flexible with scheduling (with reasonable notice), as well as reliable and dependable
Summary of Responsibilities
The Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing all daily activities within the shop during their assigned shift. This role ensures that employees perform their duties in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS), as well as company and customer expectations.
The Shift Leader maintains accountability for employee performance, conduct, and the operational readiness of furnaces and ancillary equipment. They also ensure that Parts Processing Operators (PPOs) are properly trained and qualified to perform their responsibilities.
Professionalism, leadership, and proactive management are essential in this role.
Critical Responsibilities
Ensure all processed work meets customer requirements and expectations
Maintain thorough knowledge of the Quality Management System (QMS), including all work instructions and procedures
Promote and maintain a clean, safe work environment
Ensure all records (including preventative maintenance and equipment logs) are accurate and up to date
Verify that PPOs consistently monitor and control their processes
Communicate daily with the Operations Manager regarding scheduling and production needs
Perform routine inspections of completed work prior to delivery to ensure compliance
Manage shift schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency
Enforce discipline and uphold professional conduct at all times
Assign and confirm daily tasks with PPOs, ensuring clear understanding of shift goals
Demonstrate proactive leadership across all supervisory responsibilities
Participate in business meetings, required training, and ongoing professional development
Accountability
Reports directly to the Operations Manager
Must be flexible with scheduling given reasonable notice
Must have reliable transportation
Must be willing to perform PPO duties when necessary
Required to comply with all company policies, procedures, Employee Handbook, and Safety Manual
Preferred Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience
Experience in heat treating or metal finishing environments
Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing setting
Machining or metalworking experience
Assembly and inspection experience
