CMM Programmer

Job Title and Location

CMM Programmer – Aerospace Metrology & Dimensional Inspection (MCOSMOS) – Enfield, CT – Onsite – Tier 1 Aerospace Supplier. Salary: $90,000‑$120,000 base + bonus.

We are a Tier 1 aerospace supplier that produces critical, precision‑machined components and assemblies for leading aerospace platforms. Our quality organization runs a modern metrology floor with Mitutoyo, Zeiss, and Metris CMMs that support new product introductions and daily production.

• Full ownership of the programs you write – develop, prove out, and own them end to end on critical aerospace hardware

• Direct line to quality, engineering, and manufacturing – your work drives real inspection flow

• Program, prove out, and support CMM inspections on critical aerospace components for NPI and daily production milestones.
• Generate and prove out CMM programs on Mitutoyo, Zeiss, and Metris machines for dimensional inspection of aerospace parts.
• Set up and prove out new or modified programs using provided fixtures, models, and work instructions.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T to ensure compliance with customer specifications and aerospace tolerances.
• Review CMM results, identify potential nonconformances, and support root‑cause analysis on dimensional discrepancies.
• Maintain and organize CMM programs and documentation; perform validation and calibration checks to ensure CMM accuracy.
• Train inspection personnel on setups you develop.

• Mid‑level through senior CMM programmer experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace exposure preferred.
• Prior MCOSMOS experience required;
  Calypso and/or Modus a strong plus.
• Strong GD&T interpretation, blueprint reading, and application of aerospace tolerances.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training in mechanical inspection or metrology preferred; ASQ certification (CMI or CQT) a plus.
• Experience with Mitutoyo, Zeiss, or Metris CMM operation.
• Experience with SPC or measurement data software.
• Experience with manual inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Experience with NPI / first article inspection.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis and dimensional troubleshooting.
