Roadside Technician (Field based)

Pay / salary: £41,600 OTE:
Up to £61,000

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule:
40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

• Overtime – 300 overtime hours per year equates to an extra £12,000 per annum.

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair and ideally Level 3 (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Must have right to work in the UK status.
