Shipping Team Lead

SIMOS is hiring a Shipping Lead for a large distribution center in Enfield, CT! This position is responsible for coordinating associate activities in the shipping department and will monitor associates' performance. The ideal candidate will be committed to coaching team members and improving the worksite's training, productivity, quality, safety, and attendance. The shipping Lead will set up daily/weekly work assignments for staff, conduct orientations, assist with coaching, training, provide excellent customer service, and will work along with associates as needed.

The ideal applicant must know how to read manifests and utilize warehouse systems. Microsoft Excel and Word a plus.

Shift Information:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM, $17.50 per hour - must be able to work overtime, arrive early, or stay late when business needs require. This is a Temp to Hire position.

Duties:

Minimum Qualifications:

+  Minimum of 1 year of warehouse operations or warehouse systems experience required.

Key Responsibilities &

Qualifications:

+  Support the Shift Supervisor with the daily operations of the Shipping Department.

+  Communicate professionally and effectively with SIMOS management and the client's operations team.

+  Train and mentor new associates within the Shipping Department.

+  Monitor associate productivity, performance, and adherence to safety standards.

+  Partner with SIMOS management and client operations to ensure daily operational goals are met.

+  Learn to accurately interpret shipping manifests and utilize warehouse systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.

+  Demonstrate strong leadership skills, including the ability to delegate tasks, organize workflow, and motivate team members.

+  Maintain excellent attendance and reliability, as consistent attendance is essential to the role.

+  Communicate clearly and effectively with associates, supervisors, and management.

+  Maintain a flexible schedule, including the ability to work overtime, arrive early, or stay late when business needs require.

+  Work independently with minimal supervision while remaining proactive and self-motivated.

+  Provide SIMOS management with timely feedback regarding associate performance, attendance, and workplace concerns.

+  Safely lift up to 70 lbs. independently on a repetitive basis and assist with team lifts of 71-150 lbs.

+  Stand, walk, and remain on your feet for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.

+  Perform general warehouse and shipping duties as assigned.

+  Meet or exceed productivity, quality, and performance expectations established by management.

Background Check, Drug Test, Stand for Shift Duration, Must be at least 18 years old.

Able to Lift 60 pounds., required education: HS Diploma or GED.

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $17.50 - $17.50 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law.
