Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a meticulous and driven Staff Accountant to join our team in Englewood, Colorado. This role involves supporting general accounting operations across multiple branches, assisting with month-end closings, and ensuring financial reporting accuracy. The position requires collaboration with the Controller and operational leaders to maintain compliance and streamline processes.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments to ensure accurate financial records.

- Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.

- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

- Support intercompany transactions and allocation of branch-level expenses.

- Create internal financial reports and related supporting documentation.

- Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies in financial data.

- Maintain fixed asset schedules and process depreciation entries.

- Review accounts payable entries for accuracy and proper documentation.

- Contribute to compliance efforts and assist with annual audit preparations.

- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency. Requirements - Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 2-5 years of experience in accounting roles.

- Strong understanding of general ledger functions and financial reporting.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

- Ability to manage activities across multiple branch locations and meet deadlines.

- Experience in construction or manufacturing industries is preferred.

- Familiarity with accounting software such as Net Suite, Oracle, or similar systems.

- Analytical mindset with excellent organizational and communication skills.
