The Project Accountant 2 is responsible for complete project and contract financial management, collaborating with Section Managers, Project Managers, and accounting teams to ensure accurate and compliant financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Project Initiation
  • Process and prepare the Project Initiation Package based on contract negotiations and budgets provided by the PM.
  • Communicate project numbers and financial data to PM, Quality, and Marketing staff.
  • Confirm receipt of essential documentation from PM:
    Signed Contract, Notice to Proceed, Proposal, Budget Information, PCR Form, Workshare/Subconsultant Agreements, and invoicing instructions.
  • Support PM with subconsultant agreements/POs and participate in 0% Project Reviews and kickoff meetings.
• Project Execution / Monitoring
  • Review weekend and month‑end cost sheets and labor transfer job costs.
  • Process subconsultant invoices with PM approval, ensuring timely payment and monthly billing for all projects.
  • Post invoices within company deadlines, analyze accounts receivable issues, and collaborate with PM to resolve them.
  • Provide financial status data for PM, Area Manager, and others, including fee/budget updates, staff forecasts, and earned‑value calculations.
  • Maintain pipeline forecasts, manage fee and budget updates from scope changes, and support Project Reviews throughout the lifecycle.
• Project Completion
  • Confirm final billing is complete and all costs are recorded.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities with the PM.
• Cross‑Functional Accounting Support
  • Assist Area Accounting Lead with general accounting functions and training initiatives.
  • Respond to financial requests from Area Manager and regional accounting directors.
  • Support PMs with entering PPCs and maintaining quality schedules.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Positive leader and proactive team player.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Local candidate preference.
• Project accounting experience highly desired.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Oracle EBS/Hyperion experience a plus.
• A/E/C experience also highly desired.

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast‑paced environment.
• Self‑motivated, well‑organized and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Word, and Outlook.
• Commitment to being an active participant in an employee‑owned culture.

Compensation Range (Colorado): $68,222.00 – $97,460.00. Full‑time, regular position.
