Staff Accountant

Arapahoe County, CO – Direct Hire – Salary: $65K to $90K (Posted: 07/08/2026)

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $65,000 to $90,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the general ledger by verifying transactions, preparing entries, and reconciling balances with precision.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and present clear summaries of results.
  • Lead key tasks for the month-end close with guidance from the corporate controller and keep support files organized.
  • Perform regular bank and account reconciliations and resolve differences promptly.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting and partner with teams to analyze data and improve processes while safeguarding confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA viewed as a plus.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within building construction or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. accounting principles and comfortable with accounting software; experience in Accumatica considered helpful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced skill in Excel and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and ask clarifying questions when information is uncertain.
Qualifications:
  • Research accounting guidance when needed and apply findings to accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Prepare tax filings, gather compliance documents and provide organized support during audits.
  • Monitor fixed assets, maintain depreciation schedules and keep records current.
  • Contribute ideas that streamline workflows, increase accuracy, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Demonstrate careful attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity in all assigned responsibilities.
