The Permit Coordinator plays a crucial role in construction projects at Mears Broadband. They act as a liaison between field teams and project managers, coordinating resources, managing documentation, and facilitating communication to support safe, efficient project execution.

- Ensure that all construction operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.
- Ensure all employees working on the project are working safely and productively.
- Provide OJT training on construction practices and methods.
- Assign daily production to in‑house and subcontract laborers and crews.
- Requisition, assign and track materials needed for daily operations.
- Perform audits of construction operations to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices.
- Resolve complaints with property owners in areas where personnel are working.
- All other duties assigned.
- Technical Knowledge:
Understanding construction drawings, specifications, and techniques in the installation of coax and fiber optic networks. - Communication
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders. - Organizational
Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain accurate records. - Problem‑Solving Abilities:
Identifying and resolving issues efficiently and effectively. - Safety Awareness:
Thorough understanding of OSHA safety regulations and Mears Broadband procedures. - Experience:
Prior experience in telecommunications construction, project coordination, or a related field. - Driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
- Physical activity requirements:
- Exposure to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold weather.
- Sitting, standing, and walking for long periods on variable terrain.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for computer and other small equipment use.
- Pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- High school diploma.
