- Lead and manage utility construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed project plans and schedules.
- Monitor daily operations on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress and quality of work, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
- Coordinate with local utility companies and regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that projects remain financially viable.
- Supervise and mentor field staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Implement best practices in construction management, including quality control measures and risk management strategies.
- Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and any challenges encountered.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
- Facilitate communication between all parties involved in the project, ensuring that everyone is aligned on objectives and timelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in utility construction technologies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in utility construction management or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing utility projects, including water, sewer, and gas installations.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with LEED certification processes or sustainable construction practices.
- Familiarity with local utility regulations and permitting processes in Colorado.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar credential.
- Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills for budget management and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation skills for dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- This position is based in Englewood, Colorado, and may require occasional travel to job sites throughout the region.
- The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
