- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs tailored to the specific needs of various construction projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote safety awareness and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Organize and lead safety training sessions for employees, focusing on best practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries from employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing strategies to enhance overall safety performance.
- Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and proactive in its safety efforts.
- Foster a culture of safety by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives and recognizing outstanding safety performance.
- Collaborate with external safety consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure the company meets all safety standards and requirements.
- Prepare and present safety reports to senior management, highlighting key safety metrics and recommendations for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with safety audits and inspections.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in construction.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in conducting safety training and workshops.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in risk assessment and hazard analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with safety management software and tools.
- Ability to create clear and concise safety documentation and reports.
- This position is based in Englewood, Colorado, and may require occasional travel to various job sites.
- The role may involve working in various weather conditions and environments typical of construction sites.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
