Join Aims Community College as a part‑time tutor providing learner‑centered support in math, science, or writing and study skills for the Spring 2026 semester beginning in January. The role requires flexible availability on weekdays and weekends, strong communication skills, and a commitment to student success.

The tutor will conduct individual, group, and drop‑in tutoring sessions—both in‑person and remote—to enhance student confidence and academic success. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in regular training, guiding students toward independent learning, and promoting campus resources. Occasional travel may be required and adherence to campus student and staff policies is essential.
Responsibilities- Conduct individual, group, and drop‑in tutoring sessions for assigned courses.
- Use a learner‑centered approach to increase student confidence and success.
- Communicate with tutoring supervisors and adhere to effective tutoring methodologies.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of tutoring sessions.
- Guide students in developing independent learning skills.
- Adapt strategies for students with specific learning differences.
- Attend and participate in regular one‑on‑one and group training sessions.
- Assist with training new tutors.
- Stay current on trends in tutoring practices in the content area.
- Provide professional service and, when appropriate, attend classroom sessions being tutored.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the tutoring supervisor.
- Adhere to Aims Community College student and staff policies.
- MA/MS in a related field or equivalent certification, plus two (2) years of teaching, tutoring, or related experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and colleagues.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
