POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing academic instruction and supervision of pre‑school children. Assess student progress and provide feedback to stakeholders regarding individual student performance. Collect data and prepare reports regarding performance and growth of students in order to accurately inform future programming. Other duties may include, but are not limited to serving meals, clerical support, following of individual student plans, and material preparation.

Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement ECE curriculum with appropriate activities, instruction, classroom management and supervision.
  • Collaborate with team members regarding activities, planning, and resources for all students.
  • Assess student progress.
  • Use assessments to measure effectiveness of instruction and modify instruction as necessary.
  • Conduct parent‑teacher conferences, home visits and regular communication with families.
  • Provide assistance and resources to families.
  • Maintain student records, including but not limited to, attendance, meal records, student observation, progress reports, TS GOLD documentation, contact records, and injury/accident reports.
  • Maintain records and information regarding service needs including history to document compliance with Head Start requirements.
  • Maintain a learning environment that is developmentally appropriate and meets the requirements of the Health Department and Licensing agency.
  • Establish student, staff and parental rapport that allows for a proactive response to potential problems.
  • Actively participate in PLCs and other required training.
  • Apply and implement knowledge, skills and new understandings to support instructional programming.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
SUPERVISION / TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

May provide supervision of support personnel. Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to interview participation, training/development, assign and direct work, performance feedback, address complaints and resolve problems.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • One year related work experience.
  • BiLingual/Spanish preferred.
  • English fluency will be determined through the interview process.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with ECE endorsement (preferred).
