Position Summary
The responsibility of this position is to provide a strong foundation of learning while promoting curiosity and passion for learning. The expectation for the position is to provide effective standards-based, data driven instruction to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational program which fosters achievement for all students. Teach social/emotional and other formative skills. This position requires a strong team member who engages thoughtfully with data-driven collaborative conversations as part of a professional learning community.
Encourage parent/guardian involvement in student learning through open houses, volunteering, parent/teacher conferences, etc. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Create a Positive Learning Environment:
- Develop effective management structures to promote and foster teaching, learning, and student achievement.
- Establish routines that engage students through questioning, speculation, and originality.
- Collaborate with specialists to provide inclusive learning opportunities and implement research-based practices for students with special needs.
- Ensure the learning environment respects the dignity of each student and is perceived as fair and consistent.
- Incorporate additional learning opportunities for both advanced and non-proficient students.
- Organize classroom processes, procedures, and data collection to maximize instructional time.
- Motivate, engage, and empower learners to actively track and monitor their learning progress.
- Instructional Design & Curriculum Development:
- Design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments using contemporary tools and resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues from other grades or subject areas to integrate and link disciplines, influencing school-wide curriculum and teaching practices.
- Demonstrate mastery of content and ensure curriculum is rigorous, relevant, and applicable to all students.
- Deliver content that aligns with real-world applications and is relevant to students' experiences.
- Integrate and align Colorado Academic Standards, instructional objectives, strategies, learning activities, materials, and assessments to meet individual student needs.
- Use data management tools to analyze student results and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Feedback & Communication:
- Provide timely, specific, constructive, and corrective feedback that encourages student success.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and staff about student progress and learning opportunities.
- Utilize technology (e.g., websites, podcasts) to communicate with stakeholders and share information about student progress.
- Collaboration & Professional Development:
- Actively participate in staff meetings, PLCs, and other required professional events.
- Apply and implement new knowledge and skills to continuously improve instructional programming.
- Advocate for and lead initiatives that enhance student success both in and outside of school.
- Follow the professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making.
- Other Duties:
- Perform any other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Potential supervision of support personnel.
- Conduct supervisory duties in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.
