The Director of Children's Ministry is responsible to love, lead, manage, and hold accountable all BRAVE Church Children's Ministry personnel and programming (multi-campus oversight). Competencies vital for success in this role include leadership, organization, team building, problem solving, initiator, and collaborator.
QualificationsThe Director of Children's Ministry is a leader who is passionate about advancing the gospel and sold out for the mission of BRAVE Church. This disciple is a seasoned Children's Ministry leader who is humble, trustworthy, flexible, meticulous, and hardworking. Additionally, the Director of Children's Ministry must possess excellent administrative, managerial, organizational, and leadership skills with exceptional interpersonal competencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Build Kingdom Culture: Build a culture of leaders and servants that are passionate about Courageously Advancing God's Kingdom
- Build Teams: Find, train, and deploy contagious ministries leaders and teams across all BRAVE Campuses
- Bring Vision: Choose/select BRAVE Kids children's curriculum, create annual plans and events
- Bring Passion: Use God's calling and gifts to accelerate BRAVE Kids ministry to the nations
- Align with BRAVE'S DNA: Cast and execute a compelling vision for children's ministry that directly reflects and advances the broader church’s mission and values.
- Curriculum Ownership: Select, customize, and implement a robust, biblically sound curriculum scope and sequence that ensures age-appropriate spiritual formation.
- Strategic Programming: Oversee the planning and execution of all weekend services, mid-week programs, and major outreach events.
- Budget & Metrics Management: Develop and steward the annual department budget while tracking key health metrics, including weekly attendance and tracking first-time family integration.
- Volunteer Pipeline: Build a continuous recruitment, vetting, and onboarding pipeline to ensure all classrooms are fully staffed and thrive well above minimum safety ratios.
- Pastor the Leaders: Actively shepherd, mentor, and care for the spiritual health of the volunteer team, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and spiritually fed.
- Equip and Train: Conduct regular training sessions, huddles, and workshops to upgrade the ministry, storytelling, and classroom management skills of your leaders.
- Bridge the Church and Home: Create a cohesive strategy to equip and resource parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their children, providing practical take-home tools.
- Milestone Pathways: Design and lead clear processes for major family milestones, including child dedications, salvation conversations, baptism preparation classes, and the transition into student ministry.
- Proactive Communication: Maintain clear, consistent, and modern communication channels (newsletters, apps, social media) to keep parents informed and engaged.
- Enforce Child Protection Policies: Serve as the chief compliance officer for child safety, ensuring 100% adherence to background check workflows, the "two-adult rule," and regular security training.
- Tech and Systems Oversight: Maintain and optimize the church's digital check-in systems, volunteer scheduling software (e.g., Planning Center), and database tracking.
- Environment Design: Ensure all children’s spaces are physically secure, immaculately clean, visually engaging, and welcoming to new families.
