JA-Rocky Mountain is part of a worldwide organization dedicated to helping young people develop the knowledge and skills they'll need to own their economic success. In partnership with schools, businesses, foundations, community organizations, and individuals, this regional operation serves young people throughout Colorado and Wyoming.

This position plays key role in creating successful educational experiences for teens in JA-Rocky Mountain's experiential learning centers, including JA Finance Park and JA Dream Accelerator. This position is primarily responsible for facilitating the JA Finance Park simulation, but will also support the JA Dream Accelerator program, and includes facilitation for both students and volunteers. The Experiential Learning Associate also supports daily operations for the programs.

This position is part of the Experiential Learning Team and reports to the Senior Manager of Experiential Learning.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead instructional content for middle and high school students to succeed during their JA Finance Park and/or JA Dream Accelerator visits
• Train and support volunteers who serve as role models for students
• Collaborate with the Experiential Learning Team to ensure each stakeholder group has an excellent experience
• Model facilitation strategies to help students and volunteers be effective
• Provide necessary end-of-day reporting and information for future program planning
• Perform data entry tasks to ensure accurate and timely input of information
• Participate and take initiative in the planning, organization and implementation of goals associated with the overall JA-Rocky Mountain mission and vision
• Provide excellent customer service to volunteers, educators, and students
• Meet deadlines given by the Senior Manager of Experiential Learning on projects and duties
• Assist with daily cleanup activities and tasks to prepare for the next group of students

Qualifications:

• Strong public speaking and presentation skills
• Strong people skills, with an ability to connect with teens and adults
• Experience and enthusiasm working with youth
• Familiarity and comfort with technology, including Microsoft 365 and iPads
• Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, issues prevalent in under-resourced communities
• Strong time management skills and ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Passion for JA's mission

Physical/Other Expectations:

• Ability to occasionally move equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
• Associates should have reliable transportation to and from the experiential learning centers at 6500 Greenwood Plaza Blvd., Greenwood Village, CO
• Occasionally associates need to travel to the north JA Finance Park facility located at 8501 Grant St., Thornton, CO
• Ability to pass required background check

Work Considerations for Part-Time Employment:

• This position is part-time and should not exceed 1,000 hours per year
• This position aligns with the standard academic calendar, approximately August-May with very few hours in the Summer
• The position generally consists of 20-30 hrs/wk, though weekly hours may be variable due to the flow of the academic calendar. During busier times of the school year, schedules may become more consistently closer to 30 hours per week
• Hours are expected to occur between 8:00a.m. and 2:30p.m. when the centers are occupied
• When the centers are not occupied, hours will be determined by the Senior Manager of Experiential Learning based on team and organizational needs

Compensation and Benefits:

The hourly salary range for this position is $22.00-$27.00, commensurate with skill level and applicable experience. JA-Rocky Mountain offers a competitive benefits package including (but not limited to):
